Fujairah government issues new sick leave rules for employees

FUJAIRAH // Government employees in Fujairah will no longer be able to file sick notes from private clinics.

According to Al Ittihad, The National's sister publication, all sick notes must be accredited by the Supreme Medical Committee at Fujairah Hospital to be received and approved by the government's human resources department.

The HR Department at the government of Fujairah issued warnings to dozens of Fujairah government employees who have taken repetitive time off in short intervals and submitted sick leave certificates.

Mohammed Khalifa Al Zayoodi, director of the human resources department in Fujairah, noted that circulars were sent to all government stakeholders, stipulating the requirements to submit valid sick leave certificates.
