Four new ambassadors are sworn in

Four new ambassadors have been appointed to represent the country’s interests locally and abroad.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, swore in the diplomats during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, the state news agency Wam said.

The four officials are Eisa Al Kalabani, the ambassador to Mauritania; Mohammed Al Hammadi, ambassador to Somalia; Mohammed Al Rashidi, ambassador to Senegal; and Thani Al Zeyoudi, the country’s official representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency, which is based in the capital.

“The Vice President urged the four envoys to better represent their country and people, as well as pledge loyalty to the leadership that bestowed on them confidence to serve the interests of the UAE at all political, economic, cultural, tourism, social and other [sectors],” Wam reported.

“He wished them success in discharging their duties abroad and in reflecting the authentic norms and traditions of the UAE.”

The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Foreign Minister; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development; Mohammed Al Gergawi, the Minister for Cabinet Affairs; Ahmed Al Zaabi, the Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs; and others.
