ABU DHABI // Laws on shisha cafes and whether Etisalat should continue its partnership with FC Barcelona are on the agenda at Monday’s FNC meeting.
The questions are to be put to Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for FNC and Foreign Affairs.
Hamad Al Rahoomi, from Dubai, wanted to ask Dr Gargash how Etisalat’s partnership with the Catalan football club aided the UAE economy.
Ahmed Al Shamsi (Ajman) is to question Sultan Al Badi, Minister of Justice, on divorce custody of children from a non-Emirati mother and Emirati father.
Sultan Al Shamsi (Ajman) will also question Mr Al Badi on when notaries public will be given bonuses.
Minister of Health Abdulrahman Al Owais is due to answer questions from Marwan bin Ghalita, of Dubai, about laws covering cafes.
“The shisha cafes can’t be around homes, schools and mosques. Everyone knows the harmful effects of shisha. If one wants to smoke then they need to do it out of proximity to public places, and the established rules and regulations need to be applicable,” he said.
The council will also discuss a draft amendment of its internal regulations.
