FNC says UAE ministers have been slow to respond

An FNC member has complained that the Government has been slow to cooperate with the council.

Ahmed Al Shamsi (Ajman) said the council was taking long breaks between sessions because some ministers were not responding to requests.

Mr Al Shamsi said among them was the Minister of Finance, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, who had been summoned a few times in vain.

“I checked the schedule of the Finance Minister and throughout that period he was not busy with anything and did not have any missions abroad,” the FNC member said.

“Matters will not move forward this way. The council is in an unfortunate position. Forty-five days passed with no sessions and some reporters started calling members and asking why no sessions are being held.

“They received random answers like the Speaker is out of the country, which is not true.”

The Speaker, Mohammed Al Murr, said the issue would be taken into consideration and had been discussed with Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for FNC Affairs.
