Child abuse workshop held in Dubai

Participants were taught about the importance of training programmes focusing on fighting all forms of child abuse, especially that of a sexual nature.

The Ministry of Interior Child Protection Centre has organised its first two-day training course on child abuse, in cooperation with Dubai Police’s Community Service Department.

Participants were taught about the importance of training programmes focusing on fighting all forms of child abuse, especially that of a sexual nature.

Building children’s personal skills and self-esteem is one of the main ways of fighting abuse, the forum heard. The need for joint action and cooperation among government bodies, schools and parents was also highlighted.

The event featured a screening of Khalid and the Shade, a movie that raises awareness of child abuse.
