ABU DHABI // More than Dh75 million in development projects for Madinat Zayed and Al Ain, and new plans for Mussaffah, were approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council on Tuesday.
The “Future Vision of Mussaffah” plan includes developing roads, improving their aesthetics, developing areas across from public streets, enhancing the transport network and developing the 7.5-kilometre waterfront.
Recreational spaces, investment opportunities, exhibition zones and service areas in the industrial area will be developed, the council said.
Workers living in undesignated labour camps will be transferred to other accommodation bus stops will be improved, and traffic congestion and pollution will be addressed.
Twenty-one per cent of commercial and 25 per cent of industrial licences in Abu Dhabi are for businesses in Mussaffah, the council said.
More than Dh52m was approved for projects in Madinat Zayed in the Western Region that will involve developing sewerage, storm-water drains, drinking water, irrigation, and electricity and communications systems. A major power plant will be built.
The council also approved Dh23m in projects for Al Ain, including the installation of power lines and equipment.
