Abu Dhabi Civil Defence carry out emergency drill in Sheikh Zayed tunnel

Teams from various Civil Defence stations in Abu Dhabi took part in an emergency training drill in the Sheikh Zayed tunnel.

ABU DHABI // Civil Defence teams have carried out a drill in the Sheikh Zayed tunnel.

The exercise was designed to help crews prepare for a possible emergency on the busy stretch of road.

Lt Col Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, oversaw the drill which is part of a strategy to review the equipment and techniques used by civil defence teams to ensure the efficiency of rescue operations in the event of a fire or road accident.

Crews from various civil defence stations took part in the drill along with ambulance teams, police patrols and the Abu Dhabi Crises and Disasters Management Team, in coordination with Abu Dhabi Municipality.
