A pupil was hurt after two school buses collided in Kalba on Sunday morning.

Sharjah traffic patrols and an ambulance reported to the crash site and the injured girl was taken to hospital. The extent of her injuries are not known.

The remaining 34 passengers were unharmed and had alternative transport arranged to take them to school.

Police said the accident happened when one bus, carrying 25 pupils, turned onto the main road without checking that the path was clear and slammed into another bus, carrying 10 pupils.

The force called on school bus drivers to drive safely and pay extra attention when carrying pupils.
