Ghaf Trees cut as part of Al Ain clean up campaign

Clean Environment, Clean Life aims to remove the trees from parks and neighbourhoods in the city, while taking into account biodiversity and other natural resources.

One thousand Ghaf trees have been cut down in Al Ain as part of the municipality’s clean up campaign.

Clean Environment, Clean Life aims to remove the trees from parks and neighbourhoods in the city, starting with Al Markhaniya area, because they distort the landscape and lead to the proliferation of insects, the municipality said.

Suhail Al Darmaki, Deputy Director of Downtown Gardens and Recreational Parks at the civic body, said the campaign also aims to preserve the city’s appearance and cleanliness, taking into account biodiversity and preservation of natural resources.
