ABU DHABI // A viral video showing a futuristic automated car park has no connection to Abu Dhabi airport’s new Midfield terminal.

The promotional computer-generated video, created by Park Plus, a US automated car park system provider, has more than 820,000 YouTube views in less than a week online.

The video shows a family parking in a bay and leaving to enter the terminal, after which an automated crate moves to the bay and lifts the vehicle into a free car park space.

When the family land back at the airport, the car is washed and then returned to a bay ready for collection at the touch of a smartphone. The video shows the Abu Dhabi Airports Midfield terminal logo though officials at the airport have commented below the video: “Please note there is no link to Abu Dhabi Airports to this video.”
