Parking in the area adjacent to Sheikh Khalifa Park on Al Salam Street will be managed by Mawaqif from Saturday, the Department of Transport (DoT) announced yesterday.
Motorists will enjoy free parking at the Mawaqif parking spots, which are marked by turquoise and black paving stones. Inspectors will monitor the area and parking on dirt and sand spaces will no longer be permitted. This week the DoT announced almost 7,000 new Mawaqif spaces in the capital.
