Four men arrested for bootlegging in Sharjah

The four men, who are of Bangladeshi and Indian nationality, confessed to selling liquor in labour accommodation, industrial areas and construction sites.

SHARJAH // Four South Asian men have been arrested by police for illegally selling alcoholic beverages.

Sharjah CID was tipped off that the men, who come from Bangladesh and India, were selling the liquor in labour accommodation, industrial areas and construction sites in the emirate.

A CID team was able to identify and track down the suspects, then arrested the men in various locations, where they were found to be in possession of alcohol.

When confronted, they confessed to the charges and were referred to the prosecution.

Possession and sale of alcohol is illegal in Sharjah.
