Fire breaks out at Umm Al Quwain home

UMM AL QUWAIN // A fire broke out in a house in Umm Al Quwain on Saturday afternoon.

Crews rushed to the home in Al Dar Al Baida area and extinguished the blaze, said Col Hassan bin Sarm, director of UAQ Civil Defence. No injuries were reported.

The operations room had received a call at 1pm about a fire at the home of a family from an unnamed Asian country, he said.

“The house was evacuated by the crew, who could control the fire,” Col bin Sarm said.

The fire completely damaged the living room and kitchen, while smoke damaged other rooms, he said.
