Filipino wins $1 million as part of Dubai Duty Free draw

DUBAI // A Filipino national has won $1 million as part of a Dubai Duty Free draw on Tuesday.

Leah Khamille Sta Maria, a 34-year-old Dubai resident, was awarded the prize after she bought her ticket from the 194th Millennium Millionaire on her birthday on June 6.

“It is indeed a huge and pleasant surprise for me and my family,” said the office worker. “I still can’t believe that I won and it will take time to realise that my family and I are now dollar millionaires. I would like to thank Dubai Duty Free team who made it happen, what an amazing gift to receive for the Holy Month of Ramadan.”

The Finest Surprise draw was held after the Millennium Millionaire announcing Sajani Wickramasinghe, from Sri Lanka, the winner of a Porsche Panamera 4.

Roni Dsa, an Indian national living in Dubai, was also the winner of a Ducati Monster 821 in Dubai Duty Free’s Finest Surprise Promotion.
