DUBAI // A father who sexually abused his two daughters for almost two years has been sentenced to nine months by Dubai Criminal Court.

Emirati G G S was charged with molesting A M G, 16, and A L G, 12. He denied the charge in court last December. Prosecutors said 40-year-old G G S started abusing his eldest daughter when she was 14 when he would call her to his bedroom when she returned home from school.

A M G told prosecutors when she started avoiding her father, he began abusing her younger sister.

A L G told prosecutors she was abused in the living room of the family home and other times in the car. She added that the abuse happened once a week and her father would record what he was doing on a mobile phone. One of the incidents, prosecutors said, was during Ramadan last year.

The court was told G G S emotionally blackmailed his daughters by telling them that if they informed anyone what he did, he would be jailed and the family would be broken up.

G G S’s wife, and the girls’ mother, A S A, 34, said she discovered the abuse when she used G G S’s mobile phone and saw video clips of him and their youngest daughter.

“I spotted pictures and clips of the girls and when I played one of them I saw as he undressed our 12-year-old and started abusing her while she screamed at him saying ‘stop, stop daddy’,” said A S A.

When she spoke to her daughters, they told her G G S warned them against telling anyone, especially her, and if they did the family would be destroyed.

“When I confronted him he confessed,” said A S A.

G G S was found guilty and jailed.
