DUBAI // A villa will be named after the late Abd Alsalam Rafee in the first Waqf village in Dubai after his family donated Dh3 million to cover the costs of building and equipping a home in the Family Village project of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF).
Waqf is a type of fund or donation in a plot of land to build for charity as based on Sharia.
“As an Emirati citizen, I am proud of the Family Village project that is expected to play a vital role in welcoming orphans and providing a realistic and balanced home environment where all their basic needs are available,” said Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee.
Tayeb Al Rais, AMAF secretary general, thanked the family. “We hope such exemplary contributions will encourage businesses and entrepreneurs in the country to support charity projects.”
