DUBAI // As part of the UAE Youth Empowerment Strategy and the Government’s drive to engage with young people, Expo 2020 Dubai has announced the launch of an apprenticeship programme to boost youth career development in the Emirates.

Starting in August, the programme will enable the young unemployed to learn from the industry experts leading the way to 2020.

“We at Expo 2020 Dubai are committed to supporting youth as part of building a diversified knowledge-based economy,” said Manal AlBayat, vice president of engagement at the expo.

“We are confident the Expo 2020 Dubai initiatives will engage and empower youth and establish an enduring legacy for the UAE and the region.”

The programme includes a two-month academic module, a six-month job placement, and one month for review phases and graduation.

During that period, apprentices will engage in skill-building activities, applied business challenges, and panel discussions.

Graduates with a higher diploma or university degree – Emiratis and residents under 28 – will have the chance to contribute to 17 departments within the expo.

Prospective candidates can apply through the expo’s careers portal.
