Heavy rain is predicted to sweep across the Emirates from next Monday.

The BBC said light showers were expected in the country on December 7, with a thunderstorm forecast for the following day.

The unstable weather would persist until December 9 over some parts of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Fair to partly cloudy weather is predicted across the country during the week.

Humidity is set to increase by night with chances of fog in the morning over some internal areas.

The National Centre of Meteorology said temperatures were expected to range between 28°C and 29°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

North-westerly winds could kick up dust clouds over some coastal and internal parts, while conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman throughout the week.

Heavy rain lashed many parts of the country this month and caused flash floods in parts of the Northern Emirates.
