Fujairah municipality issued 29 warnings and 3 violations to pesticide companies in the emirate last year for breach of health regulations.
The figures were announced on the sidelines of a workshop for pesticide firms operating in Fujairah held by the department of public health with the aim of raising the level of awareness and knowledge about the municipality’s environmental, health and safety considerations.
The workshop focused on accreditation requirements for pesticide companies and requisites for pesticide technicians. Companies registered in other emirates must be granted authorisation to operate in Fujairah, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National.
