UAE weather: Wind and dust cause low visibility roads

Winds up to 42 kph were causing difficult driving conditions for motorists in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, said the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

DUBAI // Strong winds and dusty conditions led to reduced visibility on roads in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates on Saturday morning.

The National Centre Meteorology and Seismology said winds reached up to 42 kph in mountainous areas and 38 kph in other parts of the country.

Temperatures were also predicted to reach 46C in inland parts of the country and 42C in coastal areas.

The NCMS said humidity would increase overnight, meaning there could be some fog on Sunday morning in western areas.
