UAE weather: mercury in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the 40s

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will reach a maximum of 41°C, with mercury hitting the 40s for up to three hours on Monday afternoon.

Night temperatures in the two cities will dip to about 33°C.

In other coastal and island regions it might get as high as 42°C and inland it could hit 48°C.

The day will experience some light winds amid low clouds.

The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts fair to partly cloudy at times with low clouds appearing in the morning.

It will be humid by night and Tuesday morning over some northern areas. In coastal areas, humidity could reach 95 per cent while it could be 90 per cent inland.

Light to moderate winds could blow dust and sand.

The sea will be moderate to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Sea of Oman.
