UAE weather: Dubai and Abu Dhabi set for hot and hazy Friday

Weather conditions in Dubai on Friday will be mostly hazy, hot and humid with a moderate breeze.

Temperatures are due to peak at 41°C shortly after midday, accompanied by gentle winds of up to 23kph.

The forecast for Abu Dhabi promises a similar day of clear skies and light breezes.

Temperatures are also predicted to hit 41°C in the afternoon, with lighter winds of around 19kph.

The National Centre of Meteorology is predicting fair conditions for the UAE in general, but predicted a chance of some clouds forming at times, particularly in eastern areas.

Moderate winds could pick up sand and dust during the day, it said.

Night time temperatures could drop to around 35°C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the course of Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday morning.

How to apply for a drone permit
  • Individuals must register on UAE Drone app or website using their UAE Pass
  • Add all their personal details, including name, nationality, passport number, Emiratis ID, email and phone number
  • Upload the training certificate from a centre accredited by the GCAA
  • Submit their request
What are the regulations?
  • Fly it within visual line of sight
  • Never over populated areas
  • Ensure maximum flying height of 400 feet (122 metres) above ground level is not crossed
  • Users must avoid flying over restricted areas listed on the UAE Drone app
  • Only fly the drone during the day, and never at night
  • Should have a live feed of the drone flight
  • Drones must weigh 5 kg or less
