Tremors were felt in the UAE after an earthquake shook Iran on Tuesday evening.

The 4.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the southern part of the country at 7.24pm, the seismology department of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.

The UAE weather bureau said the earthquake was only 'slightly felt' in the Emirates and had no effect.
