Emirati youth have begun to get some hands-on, real-world experience as part of an international training programme.

This week 22 female students and 10 male students from UAE University, Abu Dhabi University, Zayed University, Khalifa University and the Petroleum Institute began a series of month-long visits to Germany, South Korea and China, as part of the UAE Youth Ambassador Programme.

The students will be participating in vocational training programmes with companies such as Siemens, China National Petroleum Corporation, Samsung, and the Hyundai Motor Company. They will also participate in language training courses in German, Korean and Chinese.

Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation conducted a one-day orientation programme to introduce them to local codes of conduct and the UAE’s relations with these countries.

The programme is run under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The programme is run by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the UAE embassies in the three countries as well as the embassies of these countries in the Emirates.
