DUBAI // A radio station has been launched to promote traditional Emirati culture to young nationals.

The station, named Al Oula, will be broadcast on the frequency of 107.4FM. It was launched by the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre.

“Culture is the most important aspect of one’s national identity and, through Al Oula, we seek to familiarise the new generation about the UAE’s culture, heritage, folklore and history,” said Fatma Aarif Al Bannay, head of the new station.

“Al Oula will serve as a platform not only to promote the different aspects of our national identity, but also to share experiences and knowledge.”
