Phase one of Emirates Red Crescent’s maintenance programme at Al Gomhoria Hospital in Aden has been completed.
The maintenance is part of ERC’s plans to maintain 14 health facilities — five major hospitals and nine health centres and clinics — in the city.
Phase one was completed at a total cost of Dh1.7 million and covered five main wards each with a capacity of 26 beds, a six-room operation theatre, a sterilisation unit, six-room laboratory, and 10 administrative offices.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the governor of Aden praised the significant efforts being made by the ERC to support health care facilities and improve health care services in Aden and neighbouring governorates.
He expressed gratitude to the UAE government and people for standing with the Yemeni people at this time.
