Emirates Red Crescent has completed the renovation of a university student housing complex in a town in Yemen’s Aden governorate.
The complex in Madina Al Shaab consists of five main buildings spread over 59,500 square metres, and will house 1,500 students from across Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia, according to Wam, the state news agency.
The project was implemented under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Honorary President of the Emirates Red Crescent.
Its renovation will help ensure academic stability and provide students with proper living facilities, said Dr Hussain Basalamah, president of Aden University.
