ABU DHABI // The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has donated over AED 7.3 million to support the Zayed Charity Marathon in Cairo.
The gesture follows the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the ERC.
This year’s edition is being held in Cairo and the proceeds will go towards the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 in Egypt.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Red Crescent, Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, said that the directives of Sheikh Hamdan to back this charitable event comes as part of his multiple initiatives in the charitable and humanitarian fields and other factors that enhance the leading role of the country in this regard.
