Two Emirates flights from Dubai to Iraq have been grounded due to a technical failure at Basra Airport.
The routes from Dubai International Airport to Basra, scheduled to jet off on Friday had to be cancelled because of an 'inoperative radar" and 'poor visibility' in Iraq, Emirates stated.
Customers affected are being reminded to contact Emirates in order to change their travel plans.
“Due to an inoperative radar and poor visibility at Basra International Airport, Emirates flights EK 945 and EK 946 to and from Basrah on 18 January have been cancelled,” said an Emirates spokesperson.
“Customers with bookings ticketed on or before 17 January to travel to and from Basra can opt to change their flights and postpone their departure up to 7 days from the original date of departure. Affected customers who wish to change their travel plans must contact their booking offices for rebooking options.
“Customers are also advised to make sure their contact details are correct by using Manage Your booking to receive update notifications.
“Customers should check their flight status for further updates.”
