Emirates Astronomy Club has exhibition

The Emirates Astronomy Club at UAE University organised a student exhibition that highlighted the latest world advances in astronomy and the role of the UAE in it.

The show was in line UAEU’s priorities to boost students’ knowledge and research skills in fields of national priority and to support the role of university in imparting knowledge to the community.

Professor Muhra Mazyood, from the student activities department and the supervisor of the show, said students at the club presented an array of activities, including workshops that provided ample explanation of astronomical objects, galaxies and planets, as well as a gallery featuring astronomy pictures.

The exhibition also played host to the Emirati astronomer Eissa Al Mazmi, who gave two presentations, one entitled “The end of the world” and another “An amateur’s experiment”.

He presented the main highlights of astronomy worldwide and UAE achievements in the field.
