ABU DHABI // Hundreds of Zayed University freshmen will be introduced to campus life this week.
Orientation is required for new students and covers university departments, faculty and staff, campus rules and policies.
Tours, registration and student counselling are among the activities.
The university is expected to welcome 2,098 freshmen across its Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses. In the capital, 870 women and 448 men will join the 3,786-member student body, while in Dubai, 719 women will join 2,539 female and 119 male returning students.
Sixty-one international students – 40 in Abu Dhabi and 21 in Dubai – will also start at the university, which first opened its doors to international students since 2010. About 334 international students attend the school before the latest intake.
The university’s graduate studies office has accepted 80 more students, who will be studying international business, public relations, tourism and cultural communications, healthcare administration and judicial studies, which for the first time is being offered in Arabic this year.
About 2,250 post-graduate students have enrolled in Zayed University’s graduate programmes since it was founded.
