ABU DHABI // The 150 best-performing Grade 12 pupils from across the country will be honoured by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mansour, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and deputy chairman of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, will hold the annual ceremony at Emirates Palace hotel. He will award the top Emirati and expatriate Grade 12 pupils, from public and private schools and Institutes of Applied Technology.
Emirati special needs achievers, one from each regional office, will also be celebrated.
The ceremony highlights the keenness of the UAE’s leaders to motivate pupils and encourage them to improve their performances.
An Adec spokesman said the organisation sought to provide pupils and schools with the best learning environment that would motivate them to be creative and innovative in their education and professional careers.
“Our prudent leadership is keen to equip students with 21st-century skills that will enable them to compete globally, establish a successful future to achieve their educational goals and ambitions, and to pursue their higher education across reputable universities in the UAE or abroad to meet future needs of the UAE labour market,” the spokesman said.
Last week, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, surprised a group of high school pupils at Zabeel Palace when he delivered their results.
