ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority has launched a month-long series of Public Libraries Summer 2014 events at Khalifa Park Library and Al Bahia Park.
The events offer a diverse educational and entertainment programme for children aged between 6 and 12, with Thursdays for activities related to explaining the importance of healthy food, basic scientific activities and group discussions, reports Wam, the state news agency.
The events include book contributions to support the libraries of some private schools, while Community Police will offer educational programmes and competitions.
Public Libraries Summer 2014, in partnership with Abu Dhabi City Municipality, features a series of awareness workshops organised on Saturdays with agencies such as the Centre of Waste Management Abu Dhabi, Environment Friends Society and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. In the workshops, children will learn about the importance of recycling waste for other uses.
