DUBAI // The Ministry of Education has revealed that it will begin developing advanced academic curricula for four grades that will see new subjects introduced.
The new curricula will be ready for the next academic year, 2016-2017, to be rolled out in grades 2, 5, 8 and 11.
A source in the curricula management department told Al Ittihad, The National's sister paper, that the ministry will work on the forming a committees of experts from universities, from the labour market and from civil society institutions who will study academic subjects and prepare books that are in line with the ministry's objectives.
The source said that the committees will not only be tasked with the preparation and writing of books that are authored in the UAE but they will also review English, maths and science books to ensure they comply with global standards.
