Exam season starts for Grade 12 pupils in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI // Examinations for Grade 12 pupils in schools that follow the government curriculum began on Sunday.

In Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, 14,733 public school and 3,390 private school pupils underwent the assessments.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council said 98 monitors were visiting schools to ensure that the examinations were properly administered and that pupils complied with regulations.

Exams for pupils in the science stream will end on June 7, while literature exams will end on June 9.

Pupils who are retaking their exams can do so between June 21 and 27.

Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Adec’s executive director of school operations, and Hamad Al Dhaheri, Adec’s executive director of private schools and quality assurance, on Sunday visited Al Itihad Cycle 3 Boys School and Aisha Bint Abu Baqer Cycle 3 Girls School to ensure that the exams were being conducted properly.

“I want to thank all Cycle 3 schools today for their great effort in ensuring that the overall environment for Grade 12 students is suitable,” Mohammed Al Dhaheri said.

“I’d also like to laud the invigilators for doing a great job in preparing for the first day of examinations, while helping students when needed.”

He said the grades of Grade 12 pupils had “profoundly improved this year”.

“We are confident that students will continue to progress, and wish them the best of luck in their examinations and future endeavours, whether they wish to study in the UAE or abroad,” the school operations director said. “We will always back them and are extremely proud of them.”

The exam results are expected to be released at the end of next month.
