ABU DHABI // The managing director of Aldar Academies is to leave his job at the end of January.
Jim Harvey said yesterday he would remain in Abu Dhabi until at least the end of the academic year as his son is studying for A-level exams and his wife teaches at the British School Al Khubairat.
Aldar Academies, a division of the developer Aldar Properties, said it "is in the process of selecting a replacement and will announce an appointment in the near future".
The company operates six schools in Abu Dhabi teaching the British curriculum, with more than 3,000 primary and secondary pupils. Three of them opened last month.
Yesterday it announced a formal partnership with Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) to open more.
Adec expects annual demand for schools to grow by 5 per cent.
