Adec inspection reports for remaining private schools to be released in July

ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) said reports for the remaining 27 schools that were inspected in the third trimester of this academic year will be released in July.

Private schools in the emirate are audited and ranked about once every two years. In the 2015-2016 academic year, Adec said it inspected 112 schools. The emirate is home to 186 private schools providing education to about 236,000 pupils.

Reports for the 43 schools audited in the first trimesters, between September and December, were published earlier this year on Adec’s website. Twenty-four schools were ranked as acceptable, good, very good or outstanding and 19 were considered weak or very weak.

Last month, Adec said it released another 42 reports for the schools inspected between January and March.

The schools in that batch fared much better, as 37 were ranked as acceptable, good, very good or outstanding and only five were labelled as weak. There were no “very weak” schools.

One report from the second trimester, for Al Nash’e Assaleh Private School, remains to be published.

Next month, Adec said it will publish the reports for the remaining 27 schools inspected from April to June.

To date this academic year, no school has lost its operating licence as a result of the inspections, according to Adec. The education regulator said it will issue a news release about the 2015-2016 school inspection findings in July.
