DUBAI // A masked robber pepper-sprayed a security guard at an exchange shop in Satwa in a bungled attempt to steal more than Dh2 million, a court heard yesterday.
BL, 27, a Nepalese security guard, was moving Dh2,351,663 from the Reda Al Ansari Exchange to his car when the robber sprayed him in the face and punched him on the face.
But the quick-thinking security man threw the case of money onto the car seat and shut the door, thwarting the robber who then ran off.
At the Criminal Court KL, 26, from Uganda, denied a charge of robbery.
A verdict is expected on November 24.
