DUBAI // About 40,000 visitors flocked to the Ramadan Night Market in the first four days since it opened at the Sheikh Rashid Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre.

Outlets selling garments and jewellery did brisk business along with henna enclosures that drew crowds. The market includes more than 50 local and international food stalls, rides for children and a gaming zone.

“The market is catering to a wide range of interests which makes it an ideal family recreational venue,” said Sunil Jaiswal, president of Sumansa Exhibitions, the event organisers. “On the inaugural night, there were people at the entrance of Sheikh Rashid Hall waiting for the souq to open its doors. The next day, we clocked in more than 700 visitors in just the first 10 minutes of the opening.”

The exhibition runs from 8pm-2am until July 11.
