Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, took part in a People of Determination Retreat in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The retreat launched 31 programmes related to covered sports, education, health, culture and quality of life and was held days before the Special Olympics World Games begins in the capital. “Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and I took part in the People of Determination Retreat,” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said on Twitter. “Our mission is to mobilise a global effort to empower them. Building societies properly requires the contribution of all its members and they are an important segment. We wish them a bright future.” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also signed the People of Determination Retreat Document, which aims to promote the integration of people with disabilities in society. They then jointly lit a Special Olympics cauldron at the palace using the Torch of Hope, which is being carried around the UAE. "With great pride, Mohammed bin Rashid and I today received the Special Olympics Flame of Hope torch. This international sporting event is being hosted by our nation, the land of peace, love and harmony," said Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
