DUBAI // The Dubai Police Twitter account has received official accreditation.

The so-called 'blue-tick' accreditation was granted by the website at the request of Dubai Police, who were eager to prevent other twitter users from imitating them. A police spokesman said the move was precautionary.

The official Dubai Police account now features a blue tick beside its name so that users can be sure they are reading genuine content.
