DUBAI // A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to five months in jail for molesting his neighbour’s daughter while she played in a corridor of their building.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted Bangladeshi M A of sexual assault.
On July 11, the 10-year-old Egyptian girl was playing when the defendant saw her and touched her inappropriately. The girl was scared and so did not tell her family.
The next day, she was again molested again by the Bangladeshi when he found her playing alone in the corridor, after which she told her mother.
“My wife called me and said something bad happened to our daughter but did not specify what it was until I went home,” said the girl’s father, H S, 40.
He said his daughter told him M A had hugged her and kissed her then pointed at the parts of her body where he had touched her.
The Bangladeshi will be deported after serving his jail term.
