Dubai International Airport operating as usual

No 'interruptions' despite 'questionable' reports

Dubai International Airport is operating as normal, despite reports on social media that it was experiencing delays.

Dubai Media Office tweeted that the airport was not experiencing any "interruptions", despite "reports by questionable sources" on Sunday morning.

Social media accounts had earlier spread incorrect news that the airport had been targeted by aerial drones belonging to Iran-backed Houthi rebels, which a Saudi-led coalition, including the UAE, is fighting as part of efforts to restore Yemen's internationally recognised government.

The General Civil Aviation Authority also denied the claims made by Houthis, affirming that UAE air traffic was operating as normal, reported Wam.

In July, a similar fake report was put out regarding Abu Dhabi International Airport.

According to flight-tracking site Flight Radar, services at Dubai International were operating as usual, but with an average delay of five minutes for arrivals and 39 minutes for departures.
