DUBAI // An agreement was signed on Monday between the Global Child Forum and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children to strengthen cooperation on children’s rights.
The forum, an initiative of the Swedish royal family, was last week held for the first time outside Stockholm, in Dubai.
“This is a long-term agreement and it’s a sign saying we will work together and that we are here to stay,” said Henrik Holmquist, operations director of the GCF.
Afra Al Basti, director general of the foundation, said: “It’s a benefit for us because we will understand more about domestic violence, child abuse and human trafficking.”
This is only the third pact signed by the GCF. The others were with Unicef and the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
