The Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee updated the organisation in charge of overseeing world expos, on the status of its event.

This was the first update for 2015 and part of a series of ongoing meetings required for the official registration for the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and Southern Asia region.

“We continue to welcome the opportunity to share our 2015 plans with the BIE executive committee,” said Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of Expo 2020. “Their insight, guidance and collaborative spirit is key to our ability to communicate our comprehensive strategies, capture best practices and prepare and execute essential milestones.”

Mr Al Tayer shared details of the expo registration document, which will be submitted to the BIE in the summer. He also presented an overview of Expo 2020 Dubai’s presence in the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2015 Milan, which will take place from May until October 2015.

Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State and director general of Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau said: “The submission of our registration document, our presence in Milan and our national engagement activities are all part of our ongoing efforts to deliver on a truly inclusive and extraordinary expo.”
