The Dubai Charity Association has distributed Dh200,000 of clothing to 1,000 families for the Eid holidays.
The clothing included 500 men’s kanduras and 700 women’s abayas, as well as handbags and other items, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National.
Ahmed Mesmar, general-secretary of Dubai Charity, said: “The aid clothing is a key charitable and humanitarian programme for Dubai Charity, distributed to needy individuals, families and orphans during Eid Al Fitr and Edi Al Adha.”
He added that the initiative was in line with Dubai Charity’s vision of making festive events an opportunity to assist those in need.
