DUBAI // The Dubai Autism Centre has organised a campaign to raise awareness of the disorder for government organisations in the emirate.

Rita Stephan, head of operations at the centre, said the campaign received a good response from the public. Ms Stephan also asked local institutions and individuals to help spread awareness, support families with autistic children and enhance cooperation in order to provide suitable environments for young people with autism to succeed.

As part of its awareness programmes this year, DAC will organise a series of visits to schools, universities and public and private institutions. Staff will also take part in the Sharjah Book Fair, where the centre will launch next year’s annual autism campaign.

The campaign will coincide with World Autism Awareness Day, on April 2.
