DUBAI // A drunk man who entered the home of a married Emirati couple and kissed the wife, as her husband slept next to her, was convicted of drinking alcohol, sexual assault and trespassing charges at Dubai Criminal Court.
Saudi defendant W J drank half a bottle of whisky before the incident on July 30, during Eid Al Fitr. He was also charged for trying to steal the husband’s wallet but he said he had taken the wallet by mistake and he was not convicted of this.
He will serve three months in jail, to be followed by deportation.
Emirati M S, 26, said she was sleeping next to her husband when a kiss woke her up.
“I opened my eyes and saw the man who kissed me walking towards the corner in the bedroom and lighting up a cigarette,” she said. “I was so scared and woke my husband up.”
The husband, K A, 27, said: “She was in shock when she woke me up, and when I approached the man, I smelled alcohol on his breath.”
K A took the man to the security office after he called police.
Policeman K A A, 20, said the Saudi was acting irrationally and throwing away money while in the patrol car.
