Drunk man sentenced to two years over colleague's death

The Indian defendant shoved a co-worker to the ground

An Indian man found to have caused the death of a colleague after drunkenly pushing him over has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Dubai Criminal Court heard how the incident happened on January 18 as the two men argued.

Soon after being shoved to the ground, the victim lost consciousness and later died of heart failure in hospital.

The defendant, 35, was found guilty of causing the death, fined Dh2,000 for being drunk and ordered to be deported following his sentence.
