A drunk man attacked and sexually assaulted a masseuse outside the shop where she worked, a Dubai court was told.
The man, who was the supervisor of a neighbouring shop in Dubai International City, approached the woman at 6pm on February 22.
The Indian accused, 32, grabbed the woman’s breast and when she pushed him away, he hit her and threw her to the ground.
"My co-worker came to help when I screamed," said the Thai masseuse, 34.
She ran into the beauty salon to escape him but the man chased her inside. Her colleagues tried to restrain him and called the police but he ran away.
The woman sustained minor injuries to her back, arms and thighs.
A medical report showed that the woman had hurt her back and arms but those may have been self-inflicted.
It also revealed that she hurt her thigh, which was consistent with the attack she described in court records.
Police tracked the man down and arrested him three days after the incident.
They say that during questioning he admitted to attacking the woman.
But at Dubai Criminal Court on Wednesday, he denied charges of sexual assault, physical assault and drinking alcohol without a licence.
A verdict is due on May 5.
